FAQs
+ WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
Wolfsbane Tattoo Collective. 3640 SE Belmont St, Portland, OR
+ Are you currently booking custom work? (updated January 2025)
Yes! Here's a few things I'd like to tattoo more of:
creatures of the oceans and skies, smoke/clouds, light house, windows/portals, patchwork sleeves, a hurricane, horse(s) or pegasus, any Norman Lindsay work, portraits, classical art recreations, anything with nude figures, matching tattoos with 2 or more people, works based on vintage scientific illustrations (specifically John audubon, Ernst Haeckel, and Walton ford)
I do not tattoo text or geometry (hints are sometimes ok) and rarely tattoo ribs.
+ When will I hear back about my custom proposal?
My assistant Kelly typically responds to emails within a few days, and new proposals within 4-6 weeks. If you have an urgent question feel free to send a follow up email or dm me on the instagram!
+ What are your rates?
For single day flash pieces/customs I charge flat rate, anywhere from $500-$1200. For multi session pieces my hourly rate ranges from 200-250/hour depending on the piece. Cash only please! Tipping is not required but appreciated!
I'm offering "pay what you can" appointments for those with darker skin tones to expand my experience in that area- if you're interested in that just make a not of it in the "budget" section of the request form!
+ What do I need to tell you about my custom design ideas?
Please be specific about what you want! For larger pieces, I prefer a loose concept and a few key elements you definitely want included, along with some additional ideas that may or may not be included.
+ How long will my tattoo take?
A session is usually 1.5-4 hours of tattooing time, not including breaks and set up. Let me know in advance if you know you’ll have a time restriction the day of your appointment.
+ What kind of ink do you use? Is it vegan?
I use Eternal Ink for color and Dynamic Ink for black. Both are vegan and made with plant-based glycerin.
+ Can I bring a guest to my appointment?
Sure! The shop is on the smaller side so no more than 2 guests, please!
+ When will I see the sketch?
The day of your appointment. For sleeves and some bigger pieces, I start with a consultation where I sketch directly onto your skin. This allows you to visualize the overall composition and gives us a chance to fine tune any details before I start the sketch. We will be able to tweak the design, size, or placement the day of your appointment.
If more than half of the design needs to be redrawn, I may charge a $50 fee. To avoid this, please be as specific as possible about what you do or don’t want included in the design
+ What is your deposit policy?
The deposit confirms your intent to show up to your appointment. It helps cover the cost of my assistant, my time researching ideas for your design, and drawing, which is why it is non-refundable.
There’s a possibility that your appointment may need to be rescheduled. If rescheduling isn’t an option for you, please let me know in advance when filling out the booking form. Otherwise, please note that the deposit remains non-refundable in these cases.
+ What if I have to reschedule?
If you cancel within one week of your appointment, there will be a 25% fee of the estimated appointment cost. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment will incur a 50% fee of the estimated appointment cost.
If you request to reschedule three times in a row or no show, I reserve the right to cancel the tattoo, and your deposit will be forfeited. Consultations are free, but if you need to reschedule within 24 hours, a $100 fee will apply for a second consultation slot.
+ What should I do to prepare for my appointment?
Hydrate, eat, get good sleep! We have complimentary tea and snack bars at the shop and you're also welcome to bring a snack. Wear clothes you’re ok with getting ink on. Some people take ibuprophen before their appointment for pain.
For best results, moisturize the area you want tattooed every day the week before your tattoo.
For back placements: consider bringing in a button up long sleeve shirt (like a flannel) so that you can wear it backwards during the appointment to keep warm! For sternum/chest: button up shirts or a zip up hoodie will keep you warm during your appointment. I have pasties on hand if needed.
